2025 Back AGAINST THE FIRE, Pirin mountain, Bulgaria, 26.07.2025 The hot summer brought fires to Bulgaria again. The largest fire of until this day, broke out near the village of Ilindentsi at the foot of the Pirin Mountain. A total of two Bulgarian Air Force helicopters, one AS-532 Cougar and one Mi-17, joined the firefighting effort. Water was being supplied from a small dam near the village of Ploski, a few kilometers from the fire.
