ATHENS FLYING WEEK, Tanagra, 05-07.09.2025
This year too, the BGwings.net team was at the Athens Flying Week in Tanagra Air Base. The tradition of producing an interesting show in recent years has been confirmed. For five consecutive years, the French Air and Space Force and the Royal Saudi Air Force have been participating in this show with various demonstration teams. The addition of a large number of aircraft from the Hellenic Air Force, Hellenic Army Aviation and Hellenic Naval Aviation Command makes this show much more exotic than ones held in Central and Western Europe. Let's not forget this year's participation of the German Eurofighter and the Italian Tornado and AW-139, which brought additional dynamics to the already interesting program.
SEA TRAINING of 24th airbase of Bulgarian AF, Black sea coast, 21.10.2025
Training flights over sea was held by crews of 24th helicopter airbase of Bulgarian Air Force. The main three helicopter types Mi-24, Mi-17 and AS-532 were involved in the flights over South Bulgarian Black sea coast. The sea practice is а necessary part of the crews for their readiness to carry on missions over the sea.
BULGARIAN HEMS HELICOPTER in action, Sliven, 23.10.2025
Bulgarian HEMS helicopter fleet continues to grow as up to October 2025 four of them were delivered. The third delivered LZ-HMC was captured in action during training flights using rescue hoist.
LOW LEVEL FLIGHTS, Carpathians, Romania, 26.08.2025
Romanian Air Force day was celebrated for a second year in a row by low level flights in the Prahova valley located in the South Carpathians. Almost all air force aircraft types currently in a service did a demonstration flights or fly-pasts. Another participations were ensured by governmental aviation organizations like SMURD, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Romanian Aeroclubs, etc.The big surprise was the German Typhoon which was part of NATO Enhanced Air Policing Mission at Mihail Kogălniceanu airbase.
AGAINST THE FIRE, Pirin mountain, Bulgaria, 26.07.2025
The hot summer brought fires to Bulgaria again. The largest fire of until this day, broke out near the village of Ilindentsi at the foot of the Pirin Mountain. A total of two Bulgarian Air Force helicopters, one AS-532 Cougar and one Mi-17, joined the firefighting effort. Water was being supplied from a small dam near the village of Ploski, a few kilometers from the fire.
