A media day was organized on 14.04.2022 at the Graf Ignatievo Air Base regarding the ongoing joint Air Policing with the participation of the Air Forces of Bulgaria and the Netherlands. The Netherlands joined the mission with 4 latest generation F-35A fighters. On a static display were presented one F-35 and one MiG-29A. The official ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Simon van der Burg, the Commander of the Air Force of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Lieutenant General Dennis Luyt, and the Chief of Bulgarian armed forces, Admiral Emil Eftimov.
