ANATOLIAN EAGLE 2025, Konya AFB, Turkey, 02-03.07.2025
The next international air exercise of the "Anatolian Eagle" series took place at Turkey's largest fighter base in the city of Konya from June 23 to July 4. 45 Turkish aircraft, 30 from partner countries and over 1,000 personnel participated. Participating countries included Azerbaijan, Hungary, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United States, as well as NATO with an air warning and control aircraft. Observers included Malaysia, Oman, Singapore and the UAE.This year's exercise was based on the realities of modern, dynamic and multidimensional warfare, with scenarios reflecting a high-threat environment, including advanced air defense systems and asymmetric threats. One of the main scenarios, played out for the first time, was the interception of cruise missiles, with an emphasis on early detection, identification and neutralization.Real cruise missiles with low radar signature were used in joint missions involving air and ground systems and requiring full coordination between all involved. The exercise was also a good opportunity for the Turkish aviation industry to test its new unmanned developments in a realistic environment.
