ATHENS FLYING WEEK, Tanagra, 17-18.09.2022
The 2022 edition of the show confirmed its growth. The usual participation of aircraft from the three branches of the Hellenic Armed Forces was supported by a steady participation of guest groups and solo performers. On the host side the demonstrations showed the Army's NH-90, CH-47 Chinook, and AH-64 Apache, the Navy's S-70 Aegean Hawk, and the Air Force's F-4E Phantom II, F-16C Block 52+, Mirage-2000, Rafale, EMB-145H AEW&C, T-6 Texan II and AS332 Super Puma. For the second year in a row a Greek Spitfire Mk.IXc restored for flights in 2021 took part in the show. After its participation last year the French demonstration Rafale took part again in Tanagra. A Swiss F/A-18C Hornet was an equal participant in the solo performances. The most expected performance, however, was of the Saudi F-15C. F-15 demonstrations in Europe are rare, even less with a Saudi jets. And they flew both days of the show in two different planes with different paintings.
