TANAGRA AFB open day, 13.09.2008
With an open flying day at Tanagra Air Base, the Greek Armed Forces demonstrated their countermeasures capabilities in the air. The demonstrations included the T-6A Texan II and T-2 Buckeye trainers, the A-7E Corsair II attack aircraft, the RF-4E Phanthom II reconnaissance jet, the F-4E Phanthom II and F-16C Block 52+ tactical fighters,as well as the pure interceptors Mirage 2000-5EG which are permanently based at Tanagra Air Base. Helicopter aviation was presented by the AH-64A+ Apache and AS332 Super Puma, and transport aviation by the timeless C-130H Hercules. A pair of CL-415 fire fighters showed how they handle the fire.
